hands.

Here are some morsels of fun with natural dyes, just in case chemicals from PAAS makes you break out or something. Turns out you can do some amazing things with tumeric, red cabbage, yellow onion skins and red onion skins. (Left side is red onion and right side is red cabbage.*) Now, i know, i know, they turned out incredibly beautiful. But i just want to point out, that despite what blogs and their photos would have you believe, that the process to create beautiful things is not always beautiful. Or maybe it's just me. Because in the process making these, i may or may not have ripped apart the kitchen, stained all our countertops, and almost burned down the house. Maybe this is not the first time I started a fire in the kitchen. You know how that egg carton material is good fire starter? Well it's extra good fire starter when you put it directly on the burner. Hahaha. I guess that's not funny. But everything is ok now. Except for the egg carton. :(

*I have maybe now been in seattle long enough to start exorcising some of my white trash-ness, because I am also dying some wife beaters. What better way to add a touch of class to a wife beater than with some natural hippie plant dyes? Vive le nature!!!
